What you can Dig:
Cloud Gate:Known by most as The Bean, Cloud Gate was formally dedicated in Chicago on May 15th, 2006. I was attending Columbia College that year and took this photograph on a particularly cloudy day in the fall. It always gets oohs and ahs from my students.
The Woman Sits Alone:I spotted this lady in red inside the Art Institute of Chicago. The color of her sweater next to the artwork on display called out for attention. I still wonder what she was doing.
Firefighters:The Dexter Building, a landmark at 630 South Wabash and home to the George Diamond Steakhouse, burned down in October of 2006. I was there that day and took this photograph of firefighters working very hard later that night.
Wrigley Field:Oh, to be a Cubs fan! It's one of the hardest and most emotional things I've had to endure. The Cubs are more than just Lovable Losers, and Wrigley Field is more than just an old ballpark. When we are down 8 - 0 in the bottom of the 6th, support never dies. We don't leave early to beat the traffic. Rally caps go on. Cheering gets louder, and the truest fans I know unite around their team. This is where the heart of Chicago is -- well, unless you're a Sox fan.
